Younger brother Bellingham got the red card in the 53rd minute of the game
Unlike some other teams in Europe, Borussia Dortmund doesn’t have a problem with playing in Europe in mid-week. This season, they haven’t lost a single game in Bundesliga following the Champions League matches (three wins and two draws) and today they finished another game unbeaten. The problem is, Dortmund is title contender (at least on paper) and must win their games, especially since they lost Der Klasiker against Bayern Munich. But, thanks to their own mistakes, they drew in Freiburg (1-1) and just allowed the Bavarians to extend the difference on the table to eight points. On top of that, Munich has a game in hand and play this evening against the Bundesliga’s worst team – Mainz. And it all happened this way due to goalkeeper Kobel’s poor pass in his own penalty area which led to another poor decision – Jobe Bellingham made a tackle as the last men and Dortmund had to defend with 10 men for half an hour. They failed.

INSANE GOAL FROM HÖLER! 🤯

Dortmund coach Kovač has left two players out of his squad for disciplinary reasons (Julien Duranville and Cole Campbell) and had only five players on the bench (plus two keepers) since Anton, Anselmino, Sabitzer and Brandt were all injured. But despite that, the guests took the lead in the poor first half when Couto's floating set-piece from the right bounced kindly for Bensebaini who got the goal from close range. Apart from one shot in the 44th minute, Freiburg showed nothing.
But everything was about to change when Jobe Bellingham got the red card after only eight minutes into the second half. Jude’s younger brother made a tackle near the edge of the penalty area after a poor pas from Kobel and was ejected. Freiburg started their attack from that moment on and they didn’t stop until they scored. Suzuki tried most of all and even hit the post, Eggestein also tested Kobel minutes before but it was a stunning volley from Holer which brought the visitors to level terms. He controlled Gunter's cross from the left and then acrobatically leaped and put the ball into the net for 1-1.
Terrible timing kinda unlucky and not intended. Red card Jobe Bellingham#Bundesliga #SCFBVB pic.twitter.com/fkxmQKtv8u
