Thika Queens forward Mwanahalima Adam, commonly known as Dogo, is the Kenya Footballers Welfare Association(KEFWA) Player of the Month for May 2021, in the Kenya Women Premier League (KWPL) Zone A, taking home a personalized trophy and a shopping voucher worth Ksh10,000
She is the fifth player to win the accolade in Zone A this season after Ulinzi Starlets' forward Neddy Atieno, Kibera Girls Soccer's midfielder Cynthia Atieno, Gaspo Youth's midfielder Sheryl Angachi, and Kayole Starlets' defender Christine Ngoizi.
Dogo was instrumental for Thika Queens in may, scoring five goals in two matches to see her side continue their dominance in Zone A.
The former Mombasa Olympic forward scored a hat trick against Kibera Girls Soccer and a brace against Kayole Starlets as her team run riot over the two clubs to see Thika maintain their unbeaten run.
The Kenyan International acknowledged his teammates for the role they played in helping her clinch the award, noting that football is a team sport and she could not have done it without them.
“I thank God for this award. Without my teammates I would not have won it since this a team sport,” Dogo said after being awarded.

Her coach Benta Achieng has lauded the forward, saying that Dogo winning the accolade will challenge the other players to work harder and strive to win in the coming editions.
“We are happy that the award has come to Thika since this will act as a huge motivation. It is a step in the right direction, and I am certain that other players will now work hard to win the next editions. This is timely just before we go for our play-off in Nakuru which we are currently preparing for,” Achieng said.
Dogo also tops the KWPL goal scorers’ chart with 19 goals in Zone A from 14 matches, a record she holds jointly with her counterpart Violet Wanjala in Zone B.
She managed 39 votes to beat Makolanders goalkeeper Samantha Okeya who garnered 29 and her fellow teammate Dorcas Shikobe who managed 25 votes.
Thika Queens are preparing for KWPL playoffs and are scheduled to play the winner in the match pitting Nakuru West Queens and Ulinzi Starlets.
