In the Serie A match of the round, Milan managed to defeat Napoli 2-1 at home despite playing half an hour with a man down
Massimiliano Allegri is bringing Milan back to the top – a fifth straight victory puts the Rossoneri in first place in Serie A. The hosts built a two-goal lead by halftime, went a man down through their own mistake and conceded once, but ultimately held on to secure another three points
AC Milan went into halftime with a 2-0 lead over Napoli after a confident and clinical display at San Siro.
The Rossoneri struck early, opening the scoring in the 3rd minute. Christian Pulisic set up Alexis Saelemaekers, who finished from close range to make it 1-0, leaving Napoli goalkeeper Alex Meret with no chance. The goal is HERE!

Napoli quickly sought a response. In the 11th minute, Miguel Gutierrez tried to turn a cross into a goal with a header from around 11 meters, but Mike Maignan dealt with it comfortably. Moments later, Kevin De Bruyne unleashed a powerful strike from the edge of the area, aiming for the right side of the net, but Maignan produced a fine save to keep Milan in front.
Milan looked sharp on the break and should have doubled their advantage in the 27th minute when Youssouf Fofana found himself in a great position inside the box but fired over. Just four minutes later, however, Milan did get their second: after a brilliant build-up led by Strahinja Pavlovic, Fofana slipped the ball to Pulisic, who calmly slotted past Meret for 2-0. There was controversy in the 37th minute when Scott McTominay went down in the Milan penalty area, but after a VAR check, play continued without a spot-kick. Milan threatened again through Saelemaekers in the 39th minute, but his powerful strike was saved by Meret. At the other end, Zambo Anguissa had a good chance just before halftime with a header, but it went wide.

The second half quickly came to life. In the 54th minute, Zambo Anguissa had a clear chance with a header, but Mike Maignan produced a crucial save. Moments later, Pervis Estupinan committed a blatant foul by dragging Di Lorenzo down in front of an empty net. After a VAR review, the referee awarded Napoli a penalty and sent Estupinan off with a straight red card.
