Hadden has praised Messo who recently joined the Arsenal academy.

Finesse Sport United FC co-founder Patrick Hadden has shared more details about Kenyan youngster Leo Messo who recently joined Arsenal from West Ham United academy.

The 10-year-old recently made headlines across the globe when he moved from the West Ham academy to fellow London rivals Arsenal. Many argue that it is because of the similarity of his name and that of one of the greatest players ever, Lionel Messi that he trended for days across the world.

London-based Finesse Sport United discovered the player at a very young age and one of the founders Hadden has described what kind of a player the famous youngster is. According to him, Messo is a highly technical player who can play on the left and right wings and also through the middle

“At that age group, they’re not really restricted to a position. He’s both footed, a technical player who can play on the left, right, and in the middle – he's very tenacious in the way he goes about his business on the pitch,” he told Football London.

According to Hadden, they have been with the player at their stable since he was five-years-old. He got scouted by Chelsea, West Ham, and Arsenal. He was with West Ham for a short period before the Gunners came knocking.

“His journey started with Little Kickers when he was three years old. He went to a couple of grassroots teams and ended up with us at the age of five. When he came to us he got scouted by West Ham, from there he’s gone to Chelsea and Arsenal and over the last two and a half years he’s been training with those clubs. At that age group, they’re able to play for multiple clubs”.

West Ham really wanted to keep him, Chelsea liked him but didn’t offer him a contract from my knowledge. Arsenal offered him and the dad was happy for him to join,” he added.

Messo will be hoping to come through the Arsenal academy to play for the first team and join the likes of Bukayo Saka and Emile Smith Rowe.
