National U20 forward unceremoniously cuts ties with the den

National U20 forward Sellasie Otieno has parted ways with AFC Leopards less than a season after joining the den.

Otieno joined Ingwe at the start of the season on loan from Liberty Academy and leaves without making a competitive appearance for the former champions courtesy of the competition from the duo of Elvis Rupia and Bienvenue Shaka.

According to the club’s assistant coach Tom Juma the youngster did not furnish the technical bench with the reason for prematurely cutting ties with the second most successful football club in the country.

Otieno has terminated his contract with us but he did not provide a reason for it. Maybe he ran out of patience and decided to look for playing time elsewhere,” confirmed the club’s assistant coach Tom Juma.

Despite the former Ofafa Jericho Secondary School alumnus walking out of the den unceremoniously, Juma showered him with praises for his lethalness in front of the goal and tipped him to prosper in his next club.

He is a good striker whom I expect will be scoring for fan both at club level and national team for fan. Probably he lost hope at Leopards after failing to get playing time but he will certainly come good in his next club,” said the former Kenyan international.

The towering forward who was part of the Rising Stars team which made it to the semifinals of the CECAFA tournament held last year in Tanzania.

Prior to joining Ingwe, Otieno had a brief stints with Nzoia Sugar and the defunct Chemelil Sugar whom he joined after leaving school.
