Legendary Brazilian continues his "tradition"

Brazilian forward Neymar, who recently made a strong return to the football field after a long recovery period, is once again facing challenges. Last night, Neymar was absent from Santos' squad due to a new injury. This situation comes just as he had found his rhythm and was in good form, making things even more difficult.

Brazilian had been complaining of pain for several weeks, but unfortunately, this time he was forced to withdraw from the match. It seems the pain became too intense for him to play normally, and medical examinations indicated that he needed a break.

All of this would seem completely normal if the Santos attacker weren’t known for injuries around this time of the year. As his sister Rafaella’s birthday approaches, Neymar suddenly gets injured and misses matches around that date. The accuracy of this claim can be seen in the list of "injuries" he has had throughout his career.

From the 2013/14 season up until the 2022/23 season, Neymar regularly missed games around sister's birthday, whether he was playing for PSG or Barcelona. He may have tried not to make it too obvious (though it clearly was), sometimes skipping matches by deliberately earning an extra yellow card in a prior game to secure a suspension—conveniently allowing him to celebrate his sister’s birthday at home.

Whether that’s the case this time remains to be seen. Meanwhile, his Santos side lost 2-1 away to Corinthians last night.
