West Ham brush aside Brighton 3-1 at Amex in a spectacular fashion

We were amazed by the job Roberto de Zerbi has done with the Seagulls in the past few months, but even the Italian gaffer sometimes finds himself outsmarted by his fellow colleague.

And that's precisely what happened on this Saturday night as David Moyes' West Ham brushed aside Brighton and Hove Albion in their own ground, 3-1.

It was a clinical counter-attacking display of the Hammers, who continued their unbeaten Premier League start to make it to the top of the Premier League table.

James Ward-Prowse scored his first Hammers goal from two yards out, which kickstarted Londoners' road to victory at Amex.

Jarrod Bowen added a second for the visitors in the 58th minute, bringing down Said Benrahma's cross before placing the ball into the corner.

Five minutes later, the three points were wrapped up thanks to Antonio's excellent finish. The Jamaica international almost added a fourth in the closing stages, but it stayed 3-0 until Pascal Gross' found the far corner for Brighton's only goal of the game.

Brighton dominated possession, and created several more clear-cut chances, but unplayable West Ham custodian Areola made a couple of incredible saves to keep the score 3-1.
