City's fourth signing of the window
It's been announced for weeks and now it's official: Matheus Nunes is Manchester City's fourth, and possibly final, signing of the summer. Also, a record sale for Wolverhampton, who will receive 62,000,000 euros from the transfer of the 25-year-old talent, and the Molineux club will keep 10 percent of the profit from the next transfer.
It probably won't be a massive amount, but that's why Wolves will get the young English international Tommy Doyle on loan with the right to buz him out for a modest 5,000,000 euros - the Cityzens will keep 50 percent of future sales.
Much more important for the Cityzens is that with this job they patched up the hole caused by the injury of Kevin de Bruyne, who will be off the field for a period of up to four months.
Because of this, City also considered West Ham's Lucas Paqueta, but gave up on him for non-football reasons. Then they turned their attention to Nunes, whom the Wolves brought from Sporting Lisbon for 45,000,000 euros last summer, and he 'paid them back' by keeping them in the Premier League.
Now a much bigger challenge - defending the title in the Premier League and the Champions League. He will get a chance to show what he knows at least until De Bruyne returns.
A reminder - this summer City also brought in Josko Gvardiol, Jeremy Doku and Mateo Kovacic.
