The Belgian reportedly made a big impact on the fast-footed wing-back

For the past couple of months, Bayern feared that the "David Alaba case" might repeat itself and that Alphonso Davies could move to Real Madrid next June without compensation. However, in the last 24 hours, Bayern's representatives seem to have made a serious breakthrough when it comes to negotiations with the Canadian regarding the new deal with the Bavarians. The well-informed Florian Plettenberg reported that Vincent Kompany's influence is starting to affect the player, who is currently closer to deciding to stay than to leave the club.

The new coach reportedly already had a conversation with Davies and presented him his future role in the team, which would help his further improvement. Of course, this is only the first step, but certainly a very important one in the whole process of "restoring the players' trust in the club". Davies was often on the bench under Thomas Tuchel and did not have nearly as much influence as with previous coaches, so it is not surprising that Real managed to approach him to such an extent that, at one point, it seemed that they would surely entice him to move to Madrid.

When it comes to money, the Bavarians are ready to increase the initial offer of 13 million euros per year, as well as add some generous bonuses. It will still not be the amount that Davies' agent insisted on (20 million euros), but, after discussions with Kompany and some positive signals, it is not impossible that the player agrees to a slightly lower salary than requested.
