David's redemption brings Juve a win over Sassuolo

Three days after missing a penalty in a 1-1 draw against Lecce, the Canadian striker recorded a goal and an assist in the Old Lady's 3-0 road victory over the Neroverdi
Jonathan David joined Juventus last July as a massive reinforcement, and everyone around the Turin side was thrilled that the Canadian arrived at Allianz Stadium as a free agent. However, only four goals and three assists in 25 games this season were something no one expected.
The last straw for the Old Lady's fans was David's missed penalty, which could have secured a triumph for Juve against Lecce four days ago. He wasted the spot kick, and the Bianconeri had to settle for a point.
Yet, Luciano Spalletti showed immense faith in the 25-year-old, giving him a chance in the starting lineup again last night against Sassuolo, and the player repaid him with a goal and an assist in a 3-0 win over the Neroverdi.
Even though Fabio Grosso's crew started the season pretty well, they are currently in crisis, as the clash against Juve marked their fifth consecutive winless game.
On the other hand, Juventus lost just one match out of the last 15 in all competitions, and this road triumph moved them to the fourth Serie A spot. Two out of three teams sitting ahead of them, Napoli and Inter Milan, will play today against Hellas Verona (20.30) and Parma (22.45), respectively.
They also have to thank Sassuolo's centre-back Tarik Muharemovic, who broke the deadlock in the 16th minute with an own goal, while David's assist for Fabio Miretti in the 62nd minute and his goal a minute later definitely sealed the deal.
This may be an indicator of better days for the Canadian. If that happens, Juve will gain benefits as well - just like last night at Mapei Stadium.
