The Italian giant struggled against minors Parma but won at the end
New season, but same Juventus. The Italian giant started the last season in Serie A with the same goal – to qualify for the Champions League, but in secrecy, to try to rival Inter for the championship title. They failed and even changed the coach in order to save the Champions League qualifications. And now, one of the least exciting coaches Igor Tudor took over permanently and Juve starts the season with the same goals. But one thing remained from last season as well: their boring display. The Old Lady played another match in which yawning was the most dominant feeling: Juventus – Parma 2-0. The former Serie A champion was struggling against relegation fighters Parma and didn’t create much chances until a newcomer Jonathan David scored the winner. Dušan Vlahović came on as the late sub and confirmed the victory in the 84nd minute, just after Juve were left with 10 men, after Cambiaso got a direct red card. But the general feeling is – Juve will again struggle to win matches and won’t be a Scudetto candidate.

There was only two chances in the first half, both from Juventus. Thuram found Conceicao in the 13th minute and the Portuguese dived and headed the ball home but Parma keeper Suzuki tipped the ball into the corner. We had to wait 30 minutes for the next chance in this game. Yildiz had a great cross in the 42nd minute but Bremer’s header was just wide of the left post. The Brazilian defender was the main actor at the beginning of the second half when his block after Pellegrino’s shot saved Juventus’ goal.

First game, first goal — doubling Juventus’ lead vs Parma! 🔥#JUVPAR #JuventusParma pic.twitter.com/RyxZqPJHZD
Juve hit the post in the 59th minute after a shot from Conceicao and defection from Keita, but the goal came three minutes after that. Yildiz ran from the left and made a perfect cross into the halfway line, and David beat everyone else and passed the ball near Suzuki for the lead. And that was basically all until the 84nd minute, when Cambiaso elbowed the opposing player and got the red card. But just 40 seconds later substitute Dušan Vlahović ran a counter attack and finished the game off.
