Despite the injury not being worse as first feared, Tusker’s marauding right back Daniel Sakari is still expected to miss action for the next two to three weeks as the players continues with full rehabilitation on a sustained ankle injury.

Just before the Brewers’ last league outing against Ulinzi Stars in Nakuru before the 2021/2022 season took a two week break, the former Kariobangi Sharks was replaced by Isaac Kipyegon in the starting lineup after picking up the injury that saw him miss the second leg after playing the first leg against the same opponents just three days earlier.

Following examination, the Harambee Stars defender revealed that he would only sit out of action for the next three weeks after the ankle injury that looked serious ended up being false alarm.

“Luckily, I will get back to action in the next three weeks. For now I am focused with gym work after which I will get back to the training pitch,” the defender told Mozzart Sport.

On the medical table, Tusker are still sweating on the fitness of goalkeeper Brian Bwire and the attacking pair of Lawrence Luvanda and Deogratius Ojok who are also continuing with their rehabilitation.

The club however have Apollo Otieno back to full training after the midfielder overcame a bout of malaria.

With the league campaign getting back this weekend, the Robert Matano coached side will be hoping to continue with their six match unbeaten streak that has seen them take a corner to an otherwise torrid start to the season as the reigning champions.

Currently, the team have closed down the gap between them and the early season title contenders as only seven points separate them from log leading Kakamega Homeboyz after eighteen games played.

When the league resumes, the Brewers will take on Sofapaka at Kasarani Annex.
