Spanish court has made a decision

Samuel Eto'o has officially become a father again. Spanish court says that the legendary footballer is the father of Erika Do Rosario Nieves, a 22-year-old woman from Madrid, is Eto'o's child.

Adileusa do Rosario Neves started the legal fight to prove that the former Barcelona and Inter striker would be recognised as the father of her daughter in 2019. And now she succeeded.

Cape Verde-born Adileusa says she first met Eto'o in a nightclub in 1997 when he was at Leganes on loan from Real Madrid. She claims Eto’o, who has six recognised children with four different women including his wife Georgette, told her he would "act responsibly" soon after she broke the news she was pregnant. She then says he then cut off all contact with her. She also adds that during the pregnancy she tried to communicate with the future father, but he did not answer her phone calls or her emails, to indicate that she notified him by phone that she was going to give birth, without receiving a response. The girl was born in 1999 in Madrid, when the footballer was playing for Espanyol, without the player recognizing her at any time.

Eto'o is said not to have engaged with the court at any point during proceedings and was not present during the decision, but he will still have to pay allowance to the young woman totalling around $1,600 for every month since the lawsuit was filed. In total, that should add up to around KSh 5.5 million!
