The Argentinean legend departs Manchester with an impressive tally of 260 goals and five championship titles

Sergio Aguero is a living legend of the Premier League and he made sure he bowed out as one. He came off the bench in his final Manchester City appearance and scored two goals to round off a terrific season for the Citizens. The Argentine showed his class yet again before going off to pack his bags ahead of his arranged transfer to Barcelona.

The 32-year-old will forever been remembered for his title-winning heroics nine years ago. The final day of the season has special resonance for City and Aguero. Against QPR in 2012, with a first Premier League title slipping from City’s grasp and the team needing a winner to stop United pipping them to top spot, Mario Balotelli slipped the ball into Aguero’s path inside the box. His last-gasp goal still resonates at Etihad Stadium. It was a pivotal moment in the club’s history because it marked the arrival of another force in English football.

Ten years after joining City, Aguero departs to play with his brother-in-law Lionel Messi at Camp Nou. At 32 years of age, there is no doubt he’s still a lethal striker with a lot to offer.

Manchester City have today unveiled further tributes to Aguero ahead of his final game at the Etihad Stadium. In recognition of a decade of outstanding contribution to the Club, Sergio was presented with a mosaic inspired by his first-ever Manchester City goal against Swansea City from 2011. The mosaic has been installed at the City Football Academy, beside a pitch that will now bear his name, having been dedicated to the Club’s all-time record goal-scorer with an amazing total of 184 Premier League strikes - and 260 in all competitions.

Pep Guardiola and his team will have another huge game before the end of the season with the Champions League final clash with Chelsea looming. Seeing Aguero star in that game would have been the most perfect ending to a stellar career in a sky blue shirt.

City’s biggest rivals United finished their bumpy season on a high as they rallied to a 2-1 win in Wolverhampton on the day Wolves said goodbye to their Portuguese boss Nuno Espirito Santo. Solskjaer is hoping to have his team fresh for their upcoming Europa League final against Villareal.

Leeds United fans got to be in the stands to watch their team play a Premier League game at Elland Road for the first time since May 2004. They made it an occasion to remember as Rodrigo, Kalvin Phillips and Patrick Bamford scored to put a classy finishing touch on what’s been a fantastic season for Marcelo Bielsa and his soldiers in white.

Joe Willock is on fire for Newcastle! He made it seven goals in as many consecutive Premier League matches when he struck the opening goal of the Magpies’ end-of-season 2-0 win at already-relegated Fulham. Arsenal’s young midfielder has definitely given Mikel Arteta some food for thought ahead of next season. His loan spell helped Newcastle remain in the division with some energetic displays and will return to the Emirates Stadium with some newfound confidence and valuable experience. While Willock is out on loan, Nicolas Pepe found his feet and scored two goals to dispatch Brighton and Hove Albion.

Pablo Fornals scored a couple of goals and added another assist for Declan Rice as West Ham United finished a fine season on a high. They may have missed out on a Champions League spot, but their heroics still earned them a respectable sixth place and qualification for next season’s Europa League.
