In his only third month with the Italian Cremonese, the 38-year-old striker won the prestigious award, proving that true excellence never fades

It was a matter of time before Jamie Vardy's class came to light and rose to the surface. He needed some time to adapt to the new club and the new league, but now things seem to have fallen into place, as the Englishman was named the Serie A "Player of the Month" for November!

Even though his Cremonese won only one of the four games they played during the previous month, Vardy scored three out of the team's five goals - a consolation goal against Juventus and a brace against Bologna. At the same time, he clocked every minute on the pitch, which is never easy at 38.

To win the accolade, Vardy beat a fierce competition, as David Neres (Napoli), Nicolo Zaniolo (Udinese), Mike Maignan (AC Milan), Leo Ostigard (Genoa), and Lautaro Martinez (Inter Milan) were in the running.

"Jamie Vardy is truly a player from another era, one of those talents who, with their history, their achievements and the indomitable spirit with which they live every match, best express the romance of football."

"His arrival at Cremonese, who were quick to seize the opportunity this summer, was greeted with great enthusiasm by all Serie A fans, and Vardy is repaying them with top-level performances, innate leadership and important goals, the result of the competitive spirit and shooting skills that have always distinguished him," stated the Serie A CEO Luigi De Siervo via the league's official website.
