Both teams stormed the final after edging out their opponents in the semifinal by an identical 2-0 scoreline

Curtains in the inaugural Patrick Oboya Cup Tournament come to a close today with a mouthwatering clash pitting fans' favorite MUFYA FC from South B and current tournament's favorites Rongai United from Ongata Rongai at Police Band Grounds.

Rongai United edged out South B United Sports Academy (SUSA) in the semifinal, beating them 2-0, while MUFYA saw off Dagoretti's Team Ping by a similar scoreline to advance to the final of the tournament sponsored by the leading betting firm Mozzart Bet.

Being a local team, MUFYA FC will be enjoying the backing of the fans and their coach commonly known as Kiongozi Mbula believes that playing while enjoying the home advantage will be enough motivation.

"The team is set and ready for the game. Everyone is in high spirits more so because it is a South B team. We are a team from the locality and that gives us the urge and more incentive to emerge overall winners in the tournament. We shall be enjoying massive support from our fans whom I believe will turn out in large numbers and we want to give them the best display on top of winning the trophy," Mbula said.

On top of that, the tactician has urged scouts to make way to the venue to have a taste of the talent that has been at display in the tournament, adding that getting some players spotted from the tournament will be a huge win for the teams.

Rongai FC's team manager John Timba is upbeat ahead of the final, noting that they are the favorites to emerge winners going by their display heading into the final game of the tournament.

"We have prepared the boys well for the final and they are psyched up to go for the trophy and the top prize. If you take a look at the way the tournament has unfolded so far, we come into this game as the favorites. We have improved with each game going into the final and I believe the boys will put up a good show. We are a full house and everyone is available for selection in the game," Timba told Mozzart Sport.

MUFYA have been given a shot in the arm after the red card shown to midfielder Tony Blaire was overturned following a successful appeal by the team and will be available for selection for the final.

The match kicks off at 3 PM.
