Thanks to Benjamin Mendy and Gabriel Jesus' second-half goals, Pep Guardiola's side win at Leicester staying 17 points above Man Utd (1-0)

The EPL season is far from over in terms of rounds ahead of us, but it's anything but exciting at the top where Manchester City are as dominant as ever! Pep Guardiola's side won the derby at Leicester King Power Stadium (2-0) and are now staying 17 points above their city rivals and title contenders Manchester United.

Less than five minutes into the game, City were determined to show their highest ambitions. Fernardinho hit the ball from 25 yards out, Schmeichel Jr. was too short to save it, but a fine long-range screamer was denied due to an offside since Kun Aguero was the player closest to the keeper and made him difficult to see the ball's trajectory.

The visitors were as close to the lead as it gets after 20 minutes, with De Bruyne's free-kick hitting the woodwork. Gabriel Jesus joined him in the unsuccessful scorer list a couple of minutes later with an interesting stroll through the left-wing that ended with a poor cross or shot, whatever that was.

Leicester managed to kill the game's tempo for the next part of the first half, but Mahrez and De Bruyne once again were in the opportunity to establish City's dominance. However, it remained scoreless, just like in the stoppage time, when Leicester experienced striker Jamie Vardy netted and even celebrated before seeing the assistant referee's flag high in the sky because of an offside.

During some moments, the ball possession was an incredible 96-4 in favour of Pep Guardiola's side, but it wasn't sufficient for Manchester City to put themselves in front. At least until 13 minutes into the second half, when City's left-back Benjamin Mendy reacted like an unstoppable striker in the opponents' box for a decisive 1-0 lead.

As if they were dissatisfied with only one goal in the opposing net, new champions shone again 15 minutes before the final whistle. De Bruyne started the whole thing, his perfectly executed pass found Jesus, who gave Sterling a clear chance to double the lead, but the English winger was feeling unselfish and returned it to Jesus for a stunning team effort resulting in 2-0.

Leicester - and we are talking about the English Premier League's third-best team - are now an amazing 18 points adrift of Guardiola's boys. Talking about some dominance...
