As it stands between the two groups, only Kenya and Tanzania have already secured their quarter final slots although only the latter has sealed the top spot.
Madagascar takes on Burkina Faso today at the Amman Stadium, Zanzibar from 2000hrs in a match that will determine the top two teams in Group B.
Tanzania lead the group with nine points, two more than Mauritania who have already played all their group matches while Madagascar are third with four points.
Should Madagascar win, they will tie both on points and head to head with Mauritania but the former will qualify due to superior goals scored.
Although Burkina Faso stand no chance of reaching the quarter finals, they will be keen to spoil the party for Madagascar by winning and finishing third.
In the other match of the day, group leaders Tanzania will be out to maintain their 100% record in the group stage when they face bottom place Central Africa at the Benjamin Mkapa Stadium from 2000 hrs.
Tanzania have won all their previous three matches, sealed top spot and secured the advantage of playing the quarter finals at home.
