The legendary striker probably should have left to Saudi Arabia when he had the chance

Ciro Immobile's performance in Lazio's Champions League defeat at Feyenoord was disappointing - and the fans are now seriously worried. He didn't take a single shot, marking the fourth consecutive appearance in which he failed to do so. Additionally, he had four turnovers during the match. Immobile was substituted out after 55 minutes and replaced by Taty Castellanos, who provided a spark for the team.

Immobile, considered an icon for Lazio, has only scored twice in the season, with one goal coming from a penalty kick. This is a below-average goal tally for a player of his standards. Minor injuries and muscle fatigue have contributed to his struggles.

The 33-year-old attacker has also recently discussed his form and future in light of his performance.

"Staying here for life? I couldn't say yes or no now. I've been thinking about it for a while. I'd lean toward the second answer due to the injury and the negative stretch. The response would be different had I scored 20 goals already."

Immobile rejected the offer to move to Saudi Arabia before the season started. He was sure his decision was going to make him a hero among the fans. But it turns out goalscorers who doesn't score is not quite a lovable figure.

"The fact that I turned down the Saudi offer wasn't appreciated enough. I thought it might have been time to leave for a while. I'll resume scoring. I had a slump also before the 100th goal. That's not the problem. Maybe many forget that when I came here in 2016, it wasn't like this."

Despite Immobile's recent struggles and disappointing performance in the match against Feyenoord, coach Maurizio Sarri has expressed his commitment to sticking with the player. Sarri appears determined to support Immobile through his difficult period and help him regain his form.

"We can't leave him behind. He'll never get back on track if Castellanos plays all the time. He and Matteo Guendouzi started on the bench because they played Saturday. I was undecided whether to choose technique or physicality against Feyenoord."
