She is one of the four players in the team who played in the match against Algeria at Kasarani that sealed Harambee Starlet's first ever appearance at the Women's Africa Cup of Nations in 2016

Cameroon must fall! Harambee Starlets striker Mwanahalima 'Dogo' Adam repeated this statement three times in a three-minute interview during a press briefing at Kasarani Annex on Monday morning.

In April 2016, when Kenya held Algeria at Kasarani to a one-all draw, thus qualifying for the 2016 WAFCON on the away goal rule, the Hakkarigucu Spor forward was part of the team at Kasarani.

At some point, she even had the ball in the net early in the first half but she was ruled offside.

Fast forward to seven years later, she is among the only four players in the current Starlets squad preparing to do duty in the WAFCON qualifiers first round match against Cameroon who played in that match against Algeria in 2016, the others being Esse Akida, Dorcas Shikobe, and Vivian Corazone.

She is adamant that Cameroon will fall when the two teams meet, first in Doula this Friday and then in Nairobi next week on Tuesday.

"I just arrived but the team is in high spirits which tells that things in camp have been good. Though we got here late due to engagements with our club [alongside Vivian Nasaka), I believe that we will gel well with the team through constant communication and in the end, Cameroon will fall. One thing I have learned from my experience is that one should be ready to play where deployed. With my club, I play as a midfielder but I am a striker with the national team. Having been part of the team that last qualified for WAFCON alongside other players I believe it is a good motivation for us to push the team again," Dogo offered.

Further, the treacherous Hakkarigucu Spor attacker noted that the influx of Kenyan players in leagues in Europe and other countries as experienced recently is a big advantage for the national team.

She went on to urge Kenyans to show up in droves when the team plays at home next week, adding that she is happy to be back with the national team once again.

"We can now pride ourselves that as a country we also have players playing at the top level in Europe and that is a big plus for the team, and also for the upcoming players. It is a big motivation for them. At a personal level, I feel good to be back with the national team. I was longing for this because when other players were going for national team duties we were just being left with our clubs. I am very happy to be back and I promise Kenyans that we will show up for them. I also urge them to show up and support us also when we play at home next week. Cameroon must fall," he added.

Starlets are set to depart for Cameroon on Tuesday, play Cameroon on Friday, and then travel back for the return leg set to be played on Tuesday next week.
