CBE, AS Kigali WFC, and Simba Queens have already qualified for the semis

Ethiopia's CBE FC and Tanzania's Simba Queens top the groups at the ongoing 2022 CAF Women Champions League CECAFA region qualifiers in Arusha, Tanzania ahead of the last group matches.

Both teams are on six points, having won their opening two fixtures.

Although AS Kigali also have six points, CBE are supreme in Group A as they have a superior goal difference heading into the last group matches where the two sides will face off to determine who finishes the group top with both sides already having booked their slots in the semis.

The debuting duo of Fofila PF of Burundi and Zanzibar's Warriors QFC are third and fourth in Group A, and clash in a dead rubber match on Sunday.

Simba Queens, home to the Kenyan duo of Corazone Aquino and Topister Situma, have no match in Group B and were the first side to make it to the last four, with their remaining mission in the group stage being to keep their unblemished record.

Another Kenyan, Aboubakar Fatuma. has a slight chance of featuring in the semis if her side Yei Joint of South Sudan beats Simba Queens and Uganda's She Corporate loses to GRFC who are already eliminated and sit bottom of Group B.

CBE's captain Loza Abera is on course to defending her golden boot and is currently leading the race with eight goals from the two matches they have played, three more than her teammate Medina Busser who has five goals.

Last season, Abera managed to score 13 goals, ahead of her teammate Medina Busser and Vihiga Queens Jentrix Shikangwa who had eight and seven goals respectively.
