The Confederation of Africa Football (CAF) President Dr. Patrice Motsepe has said that all the 54 members in Africa will rally behind Gianni Infantino's re-elation as FIFA President next year.

Speaking during the 44th CAF Ordinary Assembly held in Arusha, Tanzania on Wednesday, Motsepe said that they had discussed the matter at CAF's executive committee and agreed to support Infantino.

“We discussed at the executive committee meeting that in recognition of the huge contributions, commitment and the track record that you’ve built in terms of improving African football, all 54 member nations have taken a resolution to vote for you (Gianni Infantino) for re-election,” Motsepe is quoted saying on CecafaOnline.

The elections are set to be held during the 73rd FIFA Congress that will be held in Kigali, Rwanda on March 16th, 2023.

Motsepe's sentiments were echoed by the President of the South Sudan Football Association Augustino Maduot as well as Tanzania Football Federation (TFF) and CECAFA President, Wallace Karia.

“Infantino has brought about several positive changes and we believe if we re-elect him more good things will come for the development of football,” Karia said.
