CAF Interclub competitions Preliminary Rounds draw set for Monday

Kenyan sides are set to miss from both competitions as Kenya is currently suspended by FIFA

The draw for the 2022-2023 CAF Interclub competitions Preliminary Rounds - CAF Champions League and Confederation Cup - will be conducted on Monday, August 8, 2022, in Cairo, Egypt, starting at 2 PM EAT.

This comes just in time ahead of the first round preliminary stage set to kick off in September 2022. with the tournament culminating in June next year.

In guidelines released by the continental body in June, the first leg of the first preliminary round in both continental competitions has been scheduled to kick off between 9-11 September with the return legs taking place a week later from 16-18 September.

The second preliminary round matches will then be played in October before the Confederation Cup additional second preliminary round encounters bring the group stage qualifiers to an end in November this year.

The group stage is slated to take place from 10-12 February till 31 March – 2 April next year before ushering the quarterfinals and semifinals in April and May respectively.

Algeria, Angola, DR Congo, Egypt, Guinea, Libya, Morocco, Nigeria, South Africa, Sudan, Tanzania, and Tunisia will enter two teams in each of the two competitions by virtue of being the12 highest ranked national associations according to CAF’s latest Interclubs Competitions rankings
