The result moves Otoho to the top of Group C on goal difference,

Congolese club AS Otoho d’Oyo stunned Algerian giants CR Belouizdad 4-1 at home, while South African side Kaizer Chiefs snatched a dramatic late point against Zamalek in Saturday’s CAF Confederation Cup group matches.

Otoho’s first-half blitz, featuring goals from Jacques Bowamba, Bandiougou Diallo, and Gosim Duvan by the 29th minute, set the home side on course for a commanding victory, before Dion Ravelli added a fourth in the 65th minute. Abderrahmane Meziane scored a late 81st-minute penalty for Belouizdad, but it was not enough to prevent the Congolese side from claiming a statement win.

The home side started brightly, using pace and direct attacking to repeatedly isolate defenders and create high-quality chances. Goalkeeper Aboubacar Doumbia preserved the advantage with two strong saves early in the second half, allowing Otoho to manage the tempo and strike again through Ravelli. Their compact back line and dominance in aerial duels ensured Belouizdad could not mount a serious comeback.

The result moves Otoho to the top of Group C on goal difference, placing Belouizdad under immediate pressure before their next outing. The group’s remaining fixture between Stellenbosch and Singida Black Stars will take place on Sunday.

Meanwhile, in Johannesburg, Kaizer Chiefs battled to earn a dramatic 1-1 draw against Zamalek. The Egyptians took an early lead in the third minute through Seifeddine Jaziri.

They controlled the game for long periods, using tactical substitutions and caution to slow Chiefs’ momentum while threatening on counter-attacks.

Chiefs’ perseverance paid off deep into stoppage time when substitute Silva reacted quickest in a crowded box to sweep home the equaliser, sending FNB Stadium into celebrations.

The draw keeps Group D closely contested. Al Masry lead with six points after a 3-2 win over ZESCO United on Friday. Zamalek are second on four points, Chiefs third on one, and ZESCO sit bottom with zero points.
