The club made the announcement on their social media platforms on Tuesday evening

Barely a day after its launch, Ramogi TV has struck the right heart chords in the footballing fraternity after record Kenyan champions Gor Mahia announced that its crucial second leg CAF Confederation Cup match against Congolese side Otoho d’Oyo will be beamed live on the new station that hit the airwaves recently.

Over the weekend, football fans were surprised to watch Tusker’s 0-0 draw against CS Sfaxien through the lens of the travelling visitors who broadcasted the match on their Youtube page while the Brewers surprisingly did not.

However, in a move that could end up benefitting both parties, the dalliance between K’Ogalo and Ramogi has been touted as the perfect launch pad for the new member of the Royal Media Service family.

“This could be a win for Ramogi and Gor. Hope they will have better tidings ahead. Perfect start for Ramogi. They should even do the match commentary in Dholuo, we will put reggae for us who do not understand,” one lover of the game humorously noted of the announcement.

Sirkal made the announcement on the social media pages on Tuesday evening ahead of the Sunday 5 December clash.

“We are pleased to announce our partnership with Royal Media Services for Sunday's CAF match. Our crunch tie will be beamed live on Ramogi TV & Citizen Digital App,” the club posted.

Due to the recent low quality broadcasting that the game has been accustomed to, another fan was quick to point out the expectations that needed to be met by the media newbies.

“Isikuwe shot na Oppo watuharibie macho,” one sarcastically posted.

Ahead of the second leg, Gor face a tough ask if they are to proceed to the group stages of the continental competition as they currently trail 1-0 after losing in Brazzaville. Their situation is made even more difficult as an already lean squad of sixteen eligible players will miss the services of John Ochieng and Jules Ulimwengu who were detained in Congo after allegedly returning positive Covid-19 tests, something the club disputes.

Moreover, captain Harun Shakava, assistant captain Philemon Otieno and midfielder Sydney Ochieng face fitness tests after picking up injuries. The match takes place on Sunday at Nyayo National Stadium.
