They were set to face Zanzibar side Warrior Queens on Saturday before they pulled out due to financial challenges

Kenya Police Bullets will begin their participation in the 2024 CAF Women’s Champions League - CECAFA Qualifiers on Sunday, after their initial Saturday fixture was cancelled, following the withdrawal of Warrior Queens.

Police Bullets, who are pooled in Group A, were set to play the Zanzibar side in the tournament’s first fixture at 1PM, but will now have to wait till Sunday, when they take to the field for the first time in Ethiopia.

Beldine Odemba’s side, as per the readjusted fixtures released on Saturday, will take on Yei Joint Stars WFC from South Sudan, from 1500 EAT.

With the competition now down to eight teams, Bullets’ group will remain as it was, and they will have to finish in the top two positions to qualify for the semi-final stage.

Their other fixtures will see them take on Rwanda’s Rayon Sports WFC and CBE on 20 and 22 August.

As for Warrior Queens, their decision to pull out of the games was reported by CECAFA to have been as a result of “unfortunate financial challenges.”

Yusuf Mossi, the CECAFA Competitions Manager communicated the same on Friday, noting that there would be no fixture change in the remaining games.

The only game on Saturday will see CBE take on Rayon Sports at the Addis Ababa Stadium from 3PM EAT.
