In the second round of the Europa League, Aston Villa secured an important 2-0 away victory over Feyenoord

Based on the first half, many would have given Feyenoord the better chances to win this match. However, Aston Villa proved their quality, and with Unai Emery’s experience as a coach, the English side controlled the game at a steady pace and secured victory with two well-taken goals.

The opening exchanges saw Feyenoord take the initiative. In the 10th minute, Hadj Moussa fired the first shot of the match from the right edge of the box, but Aston Villa goalkeeper Bizot was equal to it, making a comfortable save.

A few minutes later, in the 13th minute, Ahmedhodzic fouled Ollie Watkins and was initially shown a yellow card. After a VAR review to check for a potential red, the referee decided to leave it at a yellow.

Villa nearly broke the deadlock in the 19th minute when Watkins went one-on-one with the goalkeeper, only for his shot to be cleared off the line by a Feyenoord defender.

Feyenoord continued to threaten. In the 23rd minute, Hadj Moussa weaved past two defenders and shot, but Bizot collected it comfortably. Three minutes later, Ueda had a good opportunity, volleying at goal, but his effort lacked precision.

The Dutch side kept up the pressure. In the 27th minute, Steijn’s shot was blocked, and just ten seconds later, Ueda had another chance with a header, which also went wide.

Aston Villa’s goalkeeper again came to the rescue in the 40th minute when Valente unleashed a powerful 20-meter strike that was tipped away in a fine save.

The second half started with Villa creating early chances. In the 52nd minute, Guessand came close, hitting the post after a well-worked move down the left flank.

Villa finally broke the deadlock in the 61st minute. Following a strong team move, Buendia fired a shot that found the net, with much of the credit going to Kamara, who fought hard for the ball and provided the decisive assist. The goal is HERE!

The visitors doubled their lead in the 79th minute. After another promising sequence, the ball fell to McGinn, who calmly slotted it past the Feyenoord goalkeeper to make it 2-0, sealing the victory for Aston Villa. The goal is HERE!
