Robin's technical director last month hinted offering the 28-year-old an extension, but that has not yet materialised
Bristol City head coach Gerhard Struber says the club has got to do everything to address the contract situation of Harambee Stars prospect Zak Vyner, to avoid losing him in the not so distant future.

Struber, speaking of the impact of the 28-year-old, said the Robins had been placed in a waiting position regarding Vyner’s contract, which expires at the end of the 2025-2026 season.
The strong remarks from the coach come a month after Bristol City technical director Brian Tinnion confirmed at a fans forum that both Vyner and attacking midfielder Anis Mehmeti had been offered new deals.
However, no deal has so far been formally signed, and Struber made his views known shortly after the duo played important roles in Bristol’s 3-0 win over Swansea on Saturday, 22 November.
"I like this team, I love to work with this team, and we have to do everything that we attend the contracts with players that have maybe the chance they could jump in the near future,” Struber told Bristol Post when asked about tying Vyner and Mehmeti at the club.
"Right now, I am in a really good exchange with both players. But also we have to have respect about it.”
Vyner, a product of the Bristol City Academy, almost joined Wrexham in the summer, but City's asking price was too high.
The Kenyan, who has been a dependable presence at center back and defensive midfield, now finds himself in a situation where he could move away from Ashton Gate, should he sign a pre-contract with another side in January.
"It is right now, a little bit of a waiting position, but they have, from us - I would say - a really good future in hand,” Struber said of Vyner and Mehmeti. “It's more on them, so I would love to work with them in the future."
Regarding Vyner’s performance against Swansea - where he was deployed in a hybrid midfield position to good effect - Struber said: “He did a really good job, how we want to do it, especially in on-ball moments. How he steps back, and we build with him [and] the back three, when he steps back in a diagonal build-up moment; we always overloaded with him in the first draw - it was really good.”
