Homeboyz CEO Bernard Shitiabayi has confirmed Mwalala's arrival.
“We are happy to bring Bernard Mwalala on board. He is a good coach, he was successful as a player and as a coach, he did well at Nzoia and at Bandari. He understands the Kenyan football dynamics and challenges well and I am confident that he will make us stronger and this will translate to good results,” he told Mozzart Sport.
Pressed to Mwalala’s specific role, Shitiabayi was reluctant to divulge much.
“For now we cannot discuss his specific position, we are just happy to have him here, we will work on the minor details later,” he added
Mwalala had earlier been linked with Tanzania side, Biashara United, and FKF Premier League side, Vihiga United but the moves did not materialize and he has now joined the Kakamega based outfit.
Homeboyz is currently 7th in the FKF Premier League table with 20 points after 15 rounds of league matches. They next play Kariobangii Sharks on Friday 14th May at Kasarani.
