Brazil's FA will wait until the end of the season for Carlo's answer
When the news first appeared back at the end of last year, it seemed so unreal that Carlo Ancelotti could become Brazil’s coach. A Selecao lost their previous one after failing to win the World Cup in Qatar, and after Tite, there were serious talks about hiring the foreign coach, for the first time in their football history. After rumors that Pep Guardiola was their main target but rejected the proposal, heads turned to Carlo Ancelotti. And even the Real coach talked about the possibility, but nobody from the Brazilian FA actually confirmed anything. Until yesterday.

CBF president Ednaldo Rodrigues told beIN Sports on Thursday everything you need to know about Ancelotti’s situation.
"We haven't made him an offer but we are trying to find out if he wants to come. We have a plan A and I'm saying it for the first time, we don't have to hide, Ancelotti is our favorite. We try to be patient and wait for the right moment to discuss or meet. It also concerns those who chair the clubs" said Rodrigues.
So far, there has been no signs that anything like that will happen. ‘Don Carlo’ said numerous times that he is enjoying Madrid and that he has another year in his contract, but the Brazilians are still hopeful that something will happen at the end of the season. The only certain thing that could ‘lure’ Ancelotti would be not to win the Champions League. Since La Liga title is gone (and Real is even third at the table), only Spanish Cup and the most prestigious UEFA competition are left to be won. According to Spanish Marca, president Florentino Peres and Ancelotti had a meeting after the Real Sociedad defeat. The two recent defeats against Girona and in San Sebastian team did not please anyone, starting with the top manager and ending with the team's technical manager. As per Marca, the pair had an open discussion and Peres emphasized the fact that Saturday’s Cup final against Osasuna must show that players have learned from their recent defeats and that they are fully concentrated on the Manchester City game the following week. There was no mention of possible Ancelotti’s position at Real, but…
If the club somehow manages to lose the final against an inferior opposition and loses against City, that might force Peres to change his mind, and that’s the only thing the Brazilian can hope for.
"I have a contract until June 2024. If Real Madrid don't fire me, I'm certainly not going anywhere until then” said Ancelotti in December 2022. But, it has to be said that the Italian tactician is not yet sure of his future. After winning the Champions League title in 2022, he said:
“After this Real Madrid chapter, I will probably retire. If they want me to stay in the club for another ten years, I will stay, but when I leave, I want to be with my grandchildren, my wife, to go on vacation together. I have never been to Australia. Not even in Rio de Janeiro. I would like to see my sister more. Unfortunately, I still can't do that, so when I retire, I will have to do all these things". But in the same interview, Ancelotti said that it is ‘an interesting idea’ when asked about taking over Italian national team for the World Cup 2026. So, it seems that the only sure thing for Ancelotti is that he will stay in Real, until told otherwise.
