Brazil, five-time World Champions, got the first foreign manager in history - none other than the great Carlo Ancelotti!

Mark May 26 in your calendars because the new Brazil manager will start his spell with the Selecao on that day. A day after he ends the La Liga season with Real Madrid at Santiago Bernabeu against Real Sociedad, Carlo Ancelotti will take over Brazil's bench!

The information was confirmed by The Athletic and their renowned journalist David Ornstein earlier today, as the Italian will become the first foreign manager in the South American country's history, allegedly signing a one-year deal until the end of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

Even though the situation between the experienced gaffer and Brazil went "on and off" over the past few months, the Selecao in the end got the man with the most Champions League trophies in history. The recently sacked Al Hilal boss Jorge Jesus, Palmeiras manager Abel Pereira, and even Jose Mourinho had been mentioned as candidates, but the ultimate choice was the popular Carletto.

Ancelotti will thus end his second spell with Los Blancos, with which he won three UCL trophies. He's supposed to make his debut with the Selecao on June 6 against Ecuador in Guayaquil and is expected to secure qualification for the 2026 FIFA World Cup and prepare the team for the "attack" on Brazil's sixth world crown.

Former manager Dorival Junior left the Selecao in fourth place in the qualifiers - behind Argentina, Ecuador, and Uruguay - and the duels against Ecuador, Paraguay, Chile, and Bolivia will be key for Ancelotti and his men.

Given that he hasn't coached any national team so far, some adjustments will undoubtedly be necessary, but a man with so much experience, like Carletto - or "Carlinho" from now on? - is expected to adapt quickly.
