Mixed bag results were registered by Kenyan footballers who ply their trade abroad on Sunday.

Kenyan international Esse Akida notched a brace for PAOK as her compatriot Marjolen Nekesa registered a hat-trick to extend her perfect start to life at FC Minsk.

Marjolen Nekesa

Barley two weeks after making her move to FC Minsk, the Kenyan forward bagged a hat-trick as her side whitewashed Dinamo Brest 13-0 in the Belarusian Premier League.

Nekesa had hit the ground running, scoring on her debut last weekend in the Super Cup but the goal was not enough to inspire Minsk to victory as Dinamo-BGU won 2-1.

In the first league match of the season, Nekesa bagged her first goal in the 40th minute and added goals in the 53rd and 73rd minute to take the match ball home.

Esse Akida

Harambee Starlets forward Esse Akida bagged a brace as PAOK Women whitewashed Kastoria Gps 7-0 in the Greek Women Super League.

Since making the move from Thika Queens to PAOK back in July 2021 the talisman has been banging goals for fun in Greece.

Joseph Okumu

The Kenyan international was trusted with another start at the heart of defence and had an impressive performance holding KAA Gent to a clean sheet in the 1-0 win over Anderlecht in the Belgium top tier.

The game had chances few and far between but Gent finally found the breakthrough with nine minutes left on the clock through Tariq Tissoudali.

The Moroccan forward received an angled pass from Sven Kums on the left channel and hit it first time as it went past the onrushing goalkeeper.

Gent held on for the win that took them in the Championship Round which will enable fight for the title in a mini-league should they maintain their position at the end of the season.

Daniel Anyembe

Kenyan defender Daniel Anyembe featured for Viborg in the 1-1 draw against 10-man AGF in the Danish top tier.

The 23-year-old was handed a start with AGF needing only 16 minutes to break the deadlock through Mikael Anderson as Anyembe went on to pick up a yellow card in the 51st minute.

Viborg restored parity a minute before the hour mark through Nicolas Bürgy as Anyembe was withdrawn in the 73rd minute for Frans Putros.

Ayub Timbe

Kenyan international Ayub Timbe came off the bench for Buriram United in the 1-0 loss to BG Pathum United in the Thai Premier League.

Sarach Yooyen’s 16th-minute goal was enough to settle the tie as Timbe was introduced in the 83rd minute for Supachai Chaided.

Alwyn Tera

Kenyan international Alwyn Tera started for Ararat-Armenia in the 2-1 defeat to FC Van in the Armenian Premier League.

Alexandre Duarte opened the scoring for Ararat in the 17th minute but a late second-half comeback with goals from Vladamir Filippov and Zaven Badoyan in the 71st and 75th minute handed Van the win.
