The experienced central defender had been out since March.

The Kariobangi Sharks technical bench can afford a smile after skipper Samuel Olwande passed fitness tests and resumed full training ahead of their weekend league match against Bandari.

The experienced centre back suffered a minimally displaced radial head fracture back in March while in action against his former employer Tusker at Rauraka grounds, a setback that had been keeping out of action since then.

However, the defender who has been unfortunate with injuries was cleared to resume training last week and he says he is in god shape to content for playing time when they host Bandari.

Impeccable sources from the club indicate that they will honour the game after skipping last weekend’s duel against AFC Leopards citing procedural breaches by the league managers who were barely hours old in office.

“I am fully fit again and looking forward to play this weekend’s game. I have been training for the last one week and hopefully, I will be considered for playing time,” he said.

In his absence, coach William Muluya was forced to recall Tom Teka back to the starting team where the youthful defender had been partnering Alphonce Omija at the heart of the defence.

Olwande lauded the partnership of the young defenders and was quick to note that the maturity they displayed for the time was out left him challenged to work harder if he is get back to the starting team.

“I was impressed with the way the two defenders played for the time I was out. I think the pair is the youngest in the league and it is safe to conclude that their future is bright. My return to the starting team is not guaranteed at all, I will have to work for it,” added the former Chemelil Sugar player.
