The Bankers confirmed the development through their official social media platforms, revealing that the former Kakamega Homeboyz forward has fully recovered from a persistent calf injury.
The setback had kept the pacey winger out of action since his last appearance in the 1–0 victory over Kariobangi Sharks in September,a match that delivered KCB’s second win of the campaign.
“Winger Stephen Etyang has returned to full training with the rest of his teammates after recovering from a calf injury,” the club posted, signaling renewed optimism within the camp.
Etyang’s timely return offers head coach Robert Matano the much-needed attacking spark, as he seeks to arrest the club’s worrying dip in form.
Despite entering the 2025/2026 Football Kenya Federation Premier League (FKF-PL) season as one of the favourites, largely due to Matano’s proven championship pedigree, KCB have struggled to live up to expectations.
The Bankers are currently enduring a five-match winless run, a slump that has seen them fall to 15th place on the log, just one spot above the relegation zone.
With only three points separating them from bottom-placed APS Bomet, Matano’s charges are in desperate need of inspiration and momentum.
Etyang’s return is expected to bolster the team’s offensive options, restore creativity in the final third, and inject urgency into a side searching for confidence and direction.
His availability comes at a crucial moment as KCB prepares for a bail-bitting showdown against Mara Sugar on Saturday, 23 November, at Awendo Green Stadium.
The Bankers will be banking on Etyang’s sharpness, experience, and attacking flair to help reignite their season and steer them back onto a winning path.
