Black and blue dynamic duo on the double! Lautaro and Dzeko find their shooting boots against the Garnets

Inter have got so much attacking potential in their ranks that it was nearly incomprehensible that they would go on a seven-hour stretch in which they failed to score from open play. But that's well behind them now!

Lautaro Martinez scored a couple of fine first-half goals from as many sublime Nicolo Barella assists to put Serie A leaders on course to another win. He completed a hat-trick after the break and Edin Dzeko scored a couple of goals in five minutes to pile more misery on Salernitana.

An early stint of Inter pressure paid off midway through the first half when Barella took a touch before sliding a sublime pass into space for Martinez to control and dispatch into the far corner. The visitors' backline though they've kept it tight, but Lautaro timed his run perfectly to avoid the offside trap and get on the scoresheet for the first time since December.

It was a good night for the Serie A holders to break their duck in front of the goal with the opposition providing little threat. The bottom-of-the-table Salernitana side boasted a four-match undefeated run, but it was clear that their luck had run out - especially when Inter's dynamic duo combined again just before the break with the same devastating outcome.

Barella played Martinez on, leaving the Argentine to fend off a meek challenge from the "Granata" defence and slide another shot past Luigi Sepe.

It was more of the same after the restart. Lautaro scored another easy one thanks to a great delivery from veteran striker Edin Dzeko before an hour of play was out. He couldn't score for months and tonight he bagged a hat-trick to reach the tally of 51 goals for I Nerazzurri.

Legendary Bosnia and Herzegovina striker made sure he joined the goalscoring party with a quick double that turned the scoreline into a proper drubbing. A simple goal after some fine work from January signing Robin Goosens down the left was followed with yet another tap-in from a Denzel Dumfries right-hand side cross made it 5-0. Dzeko arrived to Inter as a cheap replacement for the departed Romelu Lukaku. Judging by the current form, Inter haven't done a bad deal there!
