Otieno has been a key figure in the Sharks team since joining the club about four years ago, establishing himself as the main man in midfield.

His diminutive physical stature, style of play and influence in the team earned him the nickname ‘N’Golo’, in reference to former Chelsea midfielder N’golo Kante, whose style of play was mirrored by Biron.

Otieno was in his usual character, pivotal to Sharks' season that saw them finish 11th on the log in a season that was marked by several injuries to their key players.

The Kibra-born and bred midfielder, in an exclusive interview with Mozzart Sport, revealed Europe as his preferred destination.

“I am yet to make a decision on my next destination, even though just like any footballer, my aspiration is to play professional football outside Kenya with Europe as the preferred destination,” said Otieno

The 23-year-old also went ahead to open up on why he chose to end ties with the William Muluya-coached side.

“While the club expressed interest in having me stay longer, we unfortunately could not reach an agreement on personal terms, thus necessitating my decision,” he stated.

The midfielder who is already on the radar of top FKF Premier League clubs went on to heap praise on Sharks for their impact on his career.

“Sharks has been home for about five years, where I have not only grown as a professional but also as a person.

The team helped me to know my value as a player and helped me to grow it, for which I am eternally grateful,” he added.

Further, the hard-tackling midfielder with great ability to resist press left a message to the Sharks faithful, to whom he was a favourite.

“The fans have been good to me and supported me every time I donned the Sharks jersey. I would like to urge them to keep supporting the club and see it grow to greater heights,” he concluded.
