Homeboyz have recently shared spoils with Mathare and Bidco.
Industrious Kakamega Homeboyz midfielder Ali Bhai has rued tough luck and lack of cutting edge in the final third in the wake of their two-game winless run.
Homeboyz squandered the chance to pull clear of the chasing pack after sharing spoils with the struggling Mathare United last week before being held to a barren draw by Bidco United on Saturday.
The Bernard Mwalala-coached side were expected to cruise past Mathare at Bukhungu Stadium but surprisingly, they had to score deep into stoppage time to salvage a point as well as maintain their unbeaten run.
Bhai noted the team deserved more than the two points they gathered against the struggling pair saying they displayed quality football but run short of luck in front of the goal.

"We were head and shoulders above in the two matches but we didn't possess the luck to score. We created and defended well still we couldn't get the match-winning goal," he said.
With Homeboyz yet to bow to any opponent this season, Bhai admitted that teams had developed the tendency of stepping up whenever they face them and called on his teammates to go a notch higher so as to lord over them.
"Certainly, Homeboyz is the team to beat this season. Teams bring their best game when they are facing us and thus, we have to be more creative if we are to keep the good job up," he said.
Commenting on their unbeaten start, the former Bandari midfielder attributed it to their resolve to win titles this season and make their debut at the continental level.

The former Western Stima man further said their one match at a time approach adopted before the season kicked off was the intended fruits.
"The playing unit came up with a plan of getting points from each and every game and so far so good. We also agreed to take each match at a time," he added.
