Having booked their place in the Europa League knockout rounds, the Giallorossi now turn attention to league matters as they continue their pursuit of a top-four finish, while mid-table Udinese look to make home advantage count at the Dacia Arena on Matchday 23.
Udinese return home buoyed by a timely league victory that helped steady their season.
Kosta Runjaic’s side snapped a slow start to 2026 with a 3-1 away win over Hellas Verona last time out, a result that lifted them into the top half of the table.
The Friulani currently sit 11th with 29 points from 22 matches, leaving them well clear of relegation danger but some distance off the European places.
In terms of recent form, Udinese’s last six Serie A outings read D-L-W-D-L-W, underlining their inconsistency.
Across those games, they have scored eight goals and conceded seven, with four fixtures seeing both teams find the net.
At home, however, results have been less convincing.
Udinese are winless in their last three league matches at the Dacia Arena, conceding in each of those games, including a narrow 1-0 defeat to Inter Milan.
While they average just over one goal per match this season, defensive lapses have often undermined their control of games.
Team news is mixed for the hosts. Alessandro Zanoli, who scored against Verona, has since suffered an ACL injury and will miss the rest of the season.
He joins Adam Buksa and Jakub Piotrowski on the sidelines, while Nicolo Zaniolo is also unavailable as he continues recovery from a knee problem.
Keinan Davis is expected to lead the line again after being directly involved in 10 Serie A goals this season, with Arthur Atta supporting him from advanced areas.
There is also a late fitness call on Hassane Kamara, who is battling Jordan Zemura for a starting spot on the left flank.
Roma arrive in Udine with momentum, if not perfection.
Gian Piero Gasperini’s men are unbeaten in their last four matches across all competitions and sit fourth in the Serie A standings with 43 points from 22 games.
Their most recent league outing ended in a 1-1 draw with AC Milan, a match in which Roma were arguably the better side.
That result marked their first domestic draw in several months but kept them firmly in the Champions League places.
Looking at their recent numbers, Roma’s last six matches in all competitions have produced three wins, two draws and one defeat.
In Serie A specifically, they have scored seven goals and conceded just three across their last five league games, highlighting their defensive solidity.
No side in Europe’s top five leagues has conceded fewer away goals than Roma this season, with just 13 allowed on their travels so far.
Away from home, the Giallorossi have built a reputation for control and efficiency rather than high-scoring chaos.
Roma’s squad depth will be tested on Monday. Manu Kone has been ruled out for several weeks, while Paulo Dybala is struggling with a knee issue and is expected to miss this fixture, along with Artem Dovbyk.
Stephan El Shaarawy and Evan Ferguson are also major doubts.
The good news for Gasperini is the return of Donyell Malen and Robino Vaz, both of whom were ineligible in Europe, while Mario Hermoso has resumed full training and could feature in defence.
The head-to-head record favours Roma have won the last six Serie A meetings between the two sides, including a 2-0 victory in the reverse fixture in November.
Udinese have conceded at least twice in each of those defeats, and Roma boast nine wins from their last 13 visits to Udine.
Key betting pointers;
Udinese are winless in their last three home league matches.
Roma have won six consecutive Serie A games against Udinese.
Roma have conceded just three goals in their last five league matches.
Udinese have conceded twice or more in each of their last six meetings with Roma.
Given Roma’s dominance in this fixture, their defensive strength away from home, and Udinese’s recent struggles at the Dacia Arena, the visitors look well placed to extend their winning run against the Friulani.
Prediction; Roma to win
