Inter head into this match shortly after a demanding Champions League outing, where they were beaten 3–1 by Arsenal. That defeat ended a strong European run and leaves Cristian Chivu’s side needing a result against Borussia Dortmund next week to stay in contention for automatic qualification.

Domestically, however, Inter remain firmly in control and will be eager to capitalise on playing first this round, with AC Milan and Napoli both facing tricky away fixtures.

Inter Milan sit top of Serie A with 49 points from 21 matches, boasting the highest number of wins in the division (16). Their recent league form reads W-W-W-D-W-W, underlining their consistency despite the midweek European setback.

Across their last six matches in all competitions, Inter have scored 1.67 goals per game while conceding one, with half of those fixtures seeing both teams score.

At home, the Nerazzurri are particularly formidable, having collected 25 of their 49 points. However, defensive perfection has been elusive, with just four clean sheets in their last ten matches.

On the injury front, Inter remain without Denzel Dumfries, Hakan Calhanoglu, Tomas Palacios, and Raffaele Di Gennaro.

In attack, Lautaro Martinez remains the key figure. The Argentine has 11 league goals and is joint-top for home goals this season, and he will be central to Inter’s plans as they look to bounce back quickly.

Pisa arrive in Milan positioned 19th in the table with 14 points, having managed just one win all season.

Despite this, they are only three points from safety, largely due to an extraordinary number of draws. Their recent league form stands at D-L-D-L-D-D, with four draws in their last six matches.

Away from home, Pisa have proven stubborn. Six of their last seven away games ended level, and they have lost only once on the road since early October.

They average one goal scored but concede 1.83 per match, with 67% of their recent games seeing both teams score.

Injury issues plague the visitors, with Raul Albiol, Juan Cuadrado, Calvin Stengs, Mateus Lusuardi, Daniel Denoon, and Isak Vural all expected to miss out. Rafiu Durosinmi, who scored on his debut last weekend, could earn a starting role, while Ebenezer Akinsanmiro may return following AFCON duty.

Inter have dominated this fixture historically, winning six consecutive competitive meetings since 1987. Earlier this season, they secured a 2–0 away win at Pisa.

Notably, recent Serie A meetings between the sides have produced under 2.5 goals, reflecting Inter’s control and Pisa’s defensive resilience.

Pisa have the fewest wins in Serie A this season

Five of Pisa’s last ten games ended with both teams scoring

Inter’s quality, depth, and home dominance should ultimately prevail, even with some fatigue from European action. However, Pisa’s resilience on the road and Inter’s recent defensive record suggest the visitors can remain competitive.
