Chelsea arrive in excellent form despite their recent Carabao Cup semi-final exit

Chelsea will look to extend their perfect English Premier League run under Liam Rosenior when they welcome Leeds United to Stamford Bridge on Tuesday night.

With the Blues chasing a top-four finish and Leeds still looking over their shoulder near the relegation zone, this midweek clash carries weight at both ends of the table.

Chelsea arrive in excellent form despite their recent Carabao Cup semi-final exit. Rosenior’s side responded impressively at the weekend with a commanding 3-1 away win over Wolves, a result that marked their fourth consecutive league victory.

Sitting fifth in the table with 43 points from 25 matches, Chelsea can temporarily close the gap to the top three to just one point with another win here.

Across their last five Premier League games, Chelsea have scored 12 goals and conceded six, averaging 2.17 goals scored and 1.17 conceded per match.

Attacking consistency has been a major feature of their resurgence, with the Blues scoring at least twice in each of their last four league wins.

Home form earlier in the season was patchy, but Chelsea have now scored two or more goals in four of their last five home league matches and remain unbeaten in their last seven league home meetings with Leeds.

In terms of team news, Chelsea are still without Levi Colwill, Romeo Lavia, Dario Essugo and Tosin Adarabioyo, while Jamie Gittens also remains sidelined.

There is positive news, however, with Reece James expected to return to the squad. Cole Palmer is the standout figure, coming off a historic first-half hat-trick against Wolves, while Joao Pedro continues to contribute creatively even when not scoring.

Leeds United travel to London buoyed by a 3-1 home win over Nottingham Forest, a result that helped them maintain a six-point cushion above the relegation zone.

Daniel Farke’s side sit 16th with 29 points, and while they have shown resilience in recent months, their struggles away from home remain a major concern.

Leeds have won just one of their 12 away league matches this season, collecting only seven points on the road and failing to win any of their last nine away games in all competitions.

Over their last five Premier League outings, the Whites have scored eight goals but conceded ten, underlining their tendency to be involved in open, high-scoring contests.

Injuries are less of an issue for Leeds, with Anton Stach the only confirmed absentee. Dominic Calvert-Lewin leads the line in strong form, already into double figures for the season and having scored in the reverse fixture against Chelsea back in December.

Head-to-head history suggests goals. Five of the last six meetings have averaged 2.5 goals per game.

Leeds won the reverse fixture 3-1, but Chelsea have dominated this matchup at Stamford Bridge, with Leeds winless in their last seven league visits and losing the last six.
