Benzema’s responce to Mbappe: ’Now it’s not the moment to talk about little things’

The short European ’Kylian Mbappe – why I stayed in PSG’ tour continued today, when the new born Frenchman gave an interview for Spanish Marca, explaining again his love for France as the reason he stayed in Paris, with the sport project being the other reason, off course. Among other questions, Karim Benzema’s possible reaction to Mbappe’s decision was asked and PSG striker vowed to talk to him about it, but during the day, Benzema’s response was published.

Back in September, Benzema was asked to comment on the situation in which PSG rejected all bids from Real Madrid at the end of the transfer window and risked losing Mbappe as a free agent.

“He is a player who will play for Real Madrid one day or another. We get along really well and I would like him to be with me today in Madrid. Mbappe would like to leave, this seems clear to me“ he told French RMC Sport.

But on Saturday, other news came from the French capital. Upon hearing the news that his France national team teammate Mbappe won’t be coming to Real, Benzema posted an Instagram post insinuating he was betrayed by Kylian. Benzema uploaded a photo of rapper Tupac Shakur shaking hands with actor Stephen Baldwin. The picture has historically had connotations of betrayal because some have claimed the man in the background of the image supposedly betrayed the late rapper and had a role in Shakur's death.

When asked about it in an interview for Marca, Mbappe didn’t dwell on it, but promised to explain reasons to Benzema when they meet in the French squad ahead of first UEFA Nations League game against Denmark on June 3rd. But, the Real striker gave his clear responce during the day.

"I would say that Real Madrid are going to play the Champions League final and this is not the moment to talk about these little things. No, I prefer not to talk. I am not angry. I am focused on the Champions League final. It's more important do this than listen to other things“ Benzema told Movistar +.

His coach Carlo Ancelotti was also asked about Mbappe’s decision, but the response was quite expected:

"It's quite clear for us what we have to think about. We have never talked about players from other clubs. We have total respect for everyone, we respect the decisions they take and we respect other clubs. We have to do our jobs and it's quite clear what we have to think about, which is the final.“ Said the Italian gaffer.
