Lois Openda had a fantastic season with Ligue 1 side Lens, scoring 21 goals on the way, and now goes to RB Leipzig
Belgium striker of African descent Lois Openda has signed a five-year contract with the Bundesliga side RB Leipzig, the club announced on Friday.
As per Bild newspaper, the fee was 43 million, with a further six million in add-ons, surpassing the 25 million euros Leipzig paid Hoffenheim for defender David Raum last season.

Openda, 23, of Morrocan and Congolese descent, spent last season at Ligue 1 slot RC Lens, and scored 21 goals in 38 league appearances, leading them to a second-placed finish.
"We stayed within our planned framework with the transfer fee, and if success-oriented bonuses occur on top of that, it means above all that we were able to celebrate the sporting successes together with the player," Leipzig's sports director Max Eberl said.
Leipzig sold their last season's top scorer Christopher Nkunku to Chelsea. They finished third in the Bundesliga to earn a place in the Champions League group stage.
