After offloading nice guy Alvaro Morata to AC Milan, Atletico Madrid's boss is ready to sign hardworking and rough around-edges Niclas Fullkrug

It's not a miracle, nor a surprise, but more of a rule. Every tactician creates a team and squad that fits his ideas and philosophy.

So, let's be honest - Alvaro Morata and Diego Simeone were a pretty strange match-up at Wanda Metropolitano.

The former with that perfect hair is a genuinely nice guy who looks like he had nothing but straight A's and will never start a brawl or fight. And the latter, who's the embodiment of a 'dirty', win-by-all-costs football, known for his on and off-the-pitch incidents and manly game.

So, now, after Morata has finally left Atletico Madrid for the second time, Cholo opted for a totally different type of player.

According to Bild, Atletico is ready to pay E30m for the striker in order to quickly fill the void left following Morata's departure. The same source adds that Los Colchoneros are so determined to get Fullkrug that they are ready to go "all-in".

Atleti's budget is limited, which is why the Madrid club turned to Fullkrug after Girona demanded E40m for their Artem Dovbyk, which was just too much.

Fullkrug has had a very impactful last three seasons. In the 2021-22 season, he led Werder with 19 goals on the way back from the second division to the Bundesliga, and the thrive in the shirt of the club from Bremen continued in the following season. He scored 16 goals in the German elite, and Dortmund was the next stop for E17m.

After only one season with BVB - decorated with 15 goals and 10 assists - the German international could bring the current club an eight-figure profit and, at the age of 31, move to La Liga powerhouse.
