Former Manchester City forward scores a hat-trick in a statement 5-0 Barcelona away win at Mestalla
There's no messing with Hansi Flick's mighty machine.
Barcelona are in the Copa del Rey semi-finals after running riots at the iconic Mestalla stadium on Thursday night. The Blaugrana celebrated a statement 5-0 away victory against deplorable Valencia, as the Bats are nothing more than a shadow of their former self.
The visitors were led by the unstoppable Ferran Torres, who scored a first-half hat-trick in just 27 minutes. The former Manchester City striker opened the scoring three minutes into the game, thus killing the suspense almost instantly.
Ferran Torres had a message in support of his hometown following the floods that impacted it in 2024:

Valencia soon descended to shambolic chaos, conceding one more (aside from Torres' three) before the half-hour mark, with Fermin Lopez putting his name on the scoreboard, too.
The Catalans slowed down in the second half, finding the back of Stole Dimitrievski's net only once. Who else than Lamine Yamal was there to put the cherry on the top of this ruthless team performance, as Barca joined Real Madrid, Real Sociedad and Atletico Madrid in the semi-finals.

As per Diario AS, Hansi Flick expressed his pleasure in his team's display and praised Ferran Torres for the hat-trick against his former club.
"It's a very important victory for us. I'm happy with the team. We created chances and scored goals from the start, and that allowed us to achieve our objective. The number of goals that we score shows the hunger that the team has. And that the players were focused on trying to score more goals. It's good to see that.
"It is important that everyone shows their best version. I'm happy for the players because they scored well, they played well. I say it again. We played very well against Valencia. I'm happy for Ferran, because he scored a hat-trick. He was out after an injury and has come back well," concluded Flick.
