Former Western Stima goal poacher Baron Oketch has ruled out the possibility of extending his stay with Tanzanian Premier League side Biashara United.

Oketch crossed the border in August last year where he penned a season-long deal with the outfit that shopper a handful of players from the Kenyan market.

He was lured to join the club by former Gor Mahia assistant coach Patrick Odhiambo who by then served as the head coach.

Odhiambo who has since moved to Tanzania Prisons also signed Shaphan Oyugi and Mathew Tayo from Kariobangi Sharks and Zoo FC respectively. Oyugi returned home in January where he signed a two-year long contract with Tusker after failing to acquire a work permit in Tanzania.

Oketch who came back to the country on sick leave disclosed his plan of severing ties with Biashara once his contract elapses in June and will not pen a new deal even if the club tables a new and lucrative deal. The forward who is the sole Kenyan remaining at the club said he arrived at the decision owing to the manner in which the team is ran.

I will be leaving Biashara in June once my contract ends. I have seen it all in Tanzania and even if they improve the terms, I will still proceed and take another challenge. I had a lot of expectations when I joined the club but unfortunately, all did not go as anticipated,” said the former Bandari forward.

Having seemingly made up his mind, Oketch expressed his desire of returning to the Kenyan league should he land an offer in the next transfer window.

The former Gor Mahia man is also open to remaining in Tanzania and chasing the dreams he had before joining Biashara.
