"FC Barcelona hereby announces that Sergi Barjuan, the current coach of Barca B, shall be taking provisional charge of the technical management of the senior squad. His interim position as a first-team head coach shall end as soon as the club has hired a full-time head coach to replace the dismissed Ronald Koeman," the club said in a brief statement.

The permanent boss they are looking for is Xavi Hernandez, another former captain and a club legend, currently in charge of the Qatari side Al-Sadd.

According to Spanish media, Xavi is not reluctant to Barcelona job at all, but he has a very lucrative contract with the Middle East employers, and it will be difficult for Barca to find the money necessary to cover the deal.

Sergi and Xavi played together at Camp Nou for a few seasons in the late '90s and early '00s.
