Barcelona coach Xavi Hernandez is the one to thank for lifting Ousman Dembele's suspension during the turbulent days of January. The same man, Dembele, however, got in trouble again in June - this time postponing the definite decision about his contract extension with the Catalan giants.
And they're having none of it anymore. The Blaugrana board is fed up with Dembele's capricious behaviour and is unwilling to wait for his back and forth moves when it comes to agreeing on a new deal.
The club wants an answer as soon as possible, so they can react and find a replacement for as little money as possible. Angel Di Maria is still free, and Raphinha has been attractive too...

On the other hand, the 25-year-old winger and especially his agent Moussa Sissoko were allegedly very disappointed that Barcelona put a new ultimatum in front of them. Apparently, the French player wanted to get more time to definitely decide, although he's certainly got better financial offers on the table.
Moreover, according to some sources, Barca's last proposal is worse than the previous one regarding Dembele's salary. It seems he's literally on the Camp Nou exit doors, and not even Xavi could prevent the very likely split.
