The two-day seminar brings togethercoaches and captain from the FKF women's premier and division one leagues

Banyana Banyana head coach, Desiree Ellis, South African sports nutritionist, Nicki de Villiers and the Chief Executive Officer and founder of Forwardzone Sports Agency, Ashley Kotzin are some of the keynote speakers lined up for a Football Kenya Federation (FKF)- organized leadership seminar dubbed “The Women’s Thought Leadership Seminar”.

The two-day workshop set to run on Wednesday, 24 and Thursday, 25 March has brought together the FKF Women Premier League and FKF Women Division One coaches and team captains and will focus on capacity building of the leadership in the women’s game.

Ellis was appointed interim manager of the South Africa women’s national football team in 2016 after Vera Pauw resigned following the team’s group stage exit at the 2016 Olympics. She was promoted to head coach in February 2018 and coached the team, then ranked 50th in the world, to a second place finish in the Africa Women Cup of Nations (AFCON) losing to 11-time champions Nigeria on penalty kicks in the final. She was awarded Confederation of African Football (CAF) Women's Coach of the Year in 2018.

Harambee Starlets head coach David Ouma has lauded the workshop that will include programs that are geared towards impacting the women in the game.

“This is a good move by the Federation and it will help in capacity building of women in football, in a time that we have our eyes set on a World Cup qualification,” said Ouma.
