Second half goals from Mwita and Kasumba reduce Okoth's effort to a mere consolation

Bandari bettered their chances of a top three finish in the 2020-2021 Football Kenya Federation Premier League (FKFPL) after recovering from a goal down to humble Kakamega Homeboyz 2-1 at the Bukhungu Stadium.

The coastal side who are now within the top five bracket following the win saved the best for the last as two second half goals reduced David Okoth's early goal to a mere consolation.

Following the result, Bandari who recently stunned Tusker at their backyard in a midweek duel have bagged six points from Homeboyz as they won the first 4-3 back in January.

Okoth who has proven a gem for Homeboyz this season plundered home the opening goal in the 18th minute from a freekick after Iddi Hassan had committed a foul within a touching distance to the area.

Hassan one of the youngsters who coach Andre Casa Mbungo has shown trust became the first player to be cautioned for the dangerous tackle and would be withdrawn in the 35th minute for Benjamin Mosha.

Bandari leveled matters two minutes after restart through Johanna Mwita who tapped in the ball from close range after the Homeboyz defence failed to clear a loose ball in the area.

Mwita who was paired with Umaru Kasumba upfront has three goals in the last four matches having found the back of the net against Tusker and Nzoia United.

Few minutes after the equalizer, Mbungo threw in Wilberforce Lugogo for Collins Agade while Nicholas Muyoti on the other hand made his first change bringing in Derrick Onyango for Stephen Etyang.

Allan Wanga made way for Ojo Olaniyi with ten minutes to go but even before he could warm the bench, Bandari were off their seats to celebrate the winning goal after Kasumba buried Mosha's cross.
