The former Nairobi City Stars striker came off the bench late in the encounter to score the third goal in a 3-0 triumph for the 21-time Tanzanian champions.
Bajaber’s contribution capped a dominant display by the Wekundu wa Msimbazi, who extended their perfect start to the season, recording four consecutive wins from four outings.
The 22-year-old, who joined Simba SC back in August following his departure from FKF Premier League defending champions Kenya Police FC, had to wait longer than anticipated for his debut due to an injury setback prior to his move.
His clinical finish against Mbeya City, however, underscored his readiness to make an immediate impact in the Tanzania Premier League.
The victory propelled Simba SC to fifth place on the 16-team league standings with 12 points, albeit with six matches in hand.
The result keeps them within striking distance of early leaders JKT Tanzania, who top the table with 17 points as they aim to reclaim lost league glory, which has eluded them now for four years, with their last triumph being in 2021.
Duke Abuya
Elsewhere in the Tanzania Premier League, Harambee Stars creative midfielder Duke Abuya provided an assist as Young Africans (Yanga) secured a 2-0 victory over Fountain Gate FC.
Yanga opened the scoring a minute before the half-hour mark through Prince Dube, who calmly slotted his penalty before Abuya played in Pacome Zouzoua, who sealed the victory with nine minutes left on the clock.
The former Kariobangi Sharks midfielder not only guided the record 31-time Tanzania Premier League champions to their fourth win in five outings but also earned the Man of the Match accolade for his influential performance.
The result cuts the gap to league leaders JKT Tanzania to just four points, with Yanga holding five matches in hand as they set the tone for an early dominance in a bid to defend their league title.
